An assertive single-story office building of 15,525 square feet on a compact 0.66-acre San Francisco lot, this CARVIS Concept Office asserts presence through restrained scale and deliberate drama. Soaring ceilings reach 26 feet at the front before tapering to 16 feet at the rear, crafting an expansive, wedge-shaped volume that feels open and horizon-bound—daylight flooding deep into the interior without interruption.

The facade is framed by large, solid dark wooden elements in an abstract arrangement: at first glance, a bold rhythmic composition of beams and shadows; examined closely, the structure subtly spells out "CARVIS" in wrapping, monumental script—an architectural Easter egg that embeds the brand identity into the very skeleton of the building.

A commanding glass wall within, at the front separates the main collaborative workspace from the adjacent mechanical bay, turning vehicle prototyping and assembly into a visible, living backdrop. Team members glance up from desks or discussions to watch real-time progress on autonomous systems—innovation made transparent and performative. Directly attached to this bay sits a dedicated software/IT room, allowing seamless handoff between hardware and code.

Biophilic elements thread throughout: lush interior planting softens transitions and absorbs sound, while the exterior forecourt features a sequence of serene water paths catch the coastal light and temper the urban perimeter.

Inside, light wood floors introduce a warm, grounding contrast to the building’s darker exterior structural timber. Precise dark wood elements and matte black metal accents shape the interior with quiet sophistication.
